Emergency Member Phone Number System

This will be sticky posted under the News and Announcements category.  This is strictly voluntary.  I will ask all members who want to do this to please PM BPMar your phone number.  Write your username and first name along with the phone number.  She will then create a list and will be shared with all members who are in agreement.  This is being done for many reasons.  Maybe someone has not logged in a long time and we could check on them.  Maybe someone has no internet access and needs the opinions of other members etc.  Maybe you have an emergency and need to talk but are not near a computer?  Maybe you need to talk and the forum has crashed etc.

I was thinking that if there was an emergency we could call a person to let them know we need help, won't be on, whatever, just to touch base so that the person with the emergency wouldn't have to make phone calls or make time to post. With that said I want all members who wish to share your numbers and to have all other participating members that will also receive your number to post so below, then send BPMar via PM your username, first name, and phone number.  When the phone number list is complete it will be shared with all those in participation.  This is just a support system in case of circumstances.

I asked for this because at the age of 47 my hubs had a heart attack and I was going to be away from home for a while. I needed advice about what to do with my birds and to let someone know I wouldn't be around for who knows how long. I had no phone numbers and zeroe time. When I finally had time to get back on the computer it was 3 weeks later and I found 6 e-mails and twice as many PMs from concerned people. My birds also back-slid big time because I didn't have anyone to advise me on their care. Another board I frequent has this in place also, it helps the Mods and the members on the board to assist those that need it when an emergency arises.
