whoa!!! angela, what kind of tarantula do you have?  can i have pics?  i like them alot, i am the only person at work who will handle them!!!  My fav are the pink toes, tho they are much quicker than the others.  I had a really cool thing happen the other day, we got a call from a senior citizens home asking if we would bring out a tarantula for a resident to hold, it was her birthday wish.  They told them they'd have to wait till i came in and when i did i got to take it over to them.  THis lady was SOOOOOOOOOOO happy to hold one before she died it was crazy!  i mean, PURE JOY!  now how many people can you imagine having this kind of dream? :)  made me smile!

How funny about the elderly lady. I have a rose-hair tarantula. We initially put together a dart frog tank (always wanted some of them) on New Year's Eve- which shows how exciting my boyfriend and I are, most people go out for New Years Eve, we went to Petsmart the day before and bought tank stuff and put together a terrarium. Anyway, got the tank up and running (we planted live) and started looking into the frogs and found out they were between $50-100 per frog and only lived around three years. Also, you have to feed them fruit flies, and I hated that idea, as I figured the flies would end up in the bird room due to Cosmo's nectar. So, we were at Petco a few weeks later and came across the tarantula, and decided to let him live in there instead. He has been here since Feb 7. Here are pics I posted back on the BC a few months ago:





The tank has really grown up since then.
