The first one

This is my absolute favorite photo of my life up to now.  It is a photo of my miniature poodle, Jon La Croix who I lost on January 8, 2008 at the age of 17yr.  This photo was taken a few yrs earlier during my black hair days, can't remember the exact year, but he was getting old already and had lots of trouble with arthritis.

I brought Jon La Croix home at the age of 6 wks 10 days after my black toy poodle of 10 yr died suddenly of kidney failure in January of 1991. He had abandonment issues due to his Mom dying when he & his little chocolate colored sister were born. His breeder hand raised them, but she worked full time and the pups were alone for hours at a time. Every time I left the house without him he would literally scream his barks & try to beat me to the door so he could go too. 

When Jon La Croix was 9 yrs old he & my other top poodle Jeaux Ber rode on Jerry's truck back & forth across the US for 5 yrs. Both poodles had gotten to go through all the lower 48 states & Canada many times in those 5 yrs. Jon La Croix absolutely loved having me with him 24/7. It was the highlight of that boy's life! 

I still have a hole in my heart from losing Jon La Croix. I still miss him after almost 6 yrs. And losing him is the main reason I ended up with 6 of my 9 dogs within a yr after he died. Grieving can do really strange things to a person, even if it is 'Just A Dog!'

This month is super easy to find a photo worthy of entering. It can be any subject you so desire, the photo that is your personal favorite. A great way to show off the photo that is nearest and dearest to your heart. Plus you get to add the 'Best Photo Award' to your signature if you win the competition with the entry that gets the most votes!! 

These competitioins are a fun. Come on and give it a try if you haven'yt already. We need lots more entries to make it a really unique and exciting 'Brag Session' this month!!

Oh bless him Nakia, what a sweet dog Jon is and no wonder you miss him. I miss my Max after 13 years, he was a staffie and whenever I see one I can't resist stopping for a chat and a fuss xxx

I guess you could say that any photo that has Weasley in it is my favorite....but I chose this picture because her wisdom and knowledge shines through her eyes in it. This is the gorgeous lady who taught me about birds. Not only about birds, but about many other things. Lots of things wouldn't have been possible without her. My beautiful Weasley.

Ok, enough kidding from me for my boo boo.  And for anyone who may be new to the forum I assure you it was a very bad typo calling Blanca's kids "fatherless"!  I truly did mean "featherless "

And to clear it up a bit, this is still my work week. When I posted the 'presumed compliment ' on Blanca's choice for the competition,  I was at work and using my "not so smart" smartphone.  I didnt pay attention and definitely did not proof read my post before leaving it feeling confident that I had spelled everything right.  (Word of caution~~never trust a smartphone~~the sneaky devils  will change words behind your back!!)  That's  my story & I'm  ssssticking to it!!!  PS, I'm still on my phone  and still at work right now, so who knows what it may change when I leave for another topic?   

Thanks Jules & Blanca for actually pointing my 'slip of the finger' out. I'd probably never noticed it if ya'll  hadn't been looking out for me!

Awww, that is so touching and precious Maddy. I can absolutely see why you chose your Very Beautiful Weasley for you entry.  I remember the stories you told about the things she taught you and helped you to become the confident exceptional  bird owner you are today.

Miss Weasley  is indeed deserving of that great honor!! I so admire you and your dedication to you Fabies!!

Folks, anyone who hasn't entered your photo yet, you still have time to get it in. The competition  closes tomorrow  when I can get home and be on my  desktop pc. I will then get the poll up for everyone to start voting.

Sooo, ya'll  have at least til 8:00 a.m. tomorrow  morning  to get your entry on here to be counted!!!  I would love to see some participation from the male members here on BP. After all, this is not just a female only forum!
