This is just unacceptable.  I just hope the poor guy doesn't die before they do the right thing and give him back.  I hate to say it, but I don't always trust the government in these matters.  I hope they haven't already killed him.

I agree, the gov't lies way too often!  I know the birds that were living in homes before this law was enacted were supposed to be grandfathered in & untouchable. This is one reason I don't like people to know exactly where I live when I am on on-line boards, you NEVER know who is out there waiting to hurt you &/or your birds.
I sure hope Gizmo is  returned to her.

while I agree that he bird should be grandfathered, there are a lot of holes in the story. Too many missing pieces. Something is not being said. Then there is the whole "acting on a tip from the public"....there is more to this story, a lot more.

but it still goes along with what i've learned in the last year, all our rights are no more than illusion. they can do anything they want and unless you are wealthy enough to hire a GOOD lawyer, you are screwed. somehow she made it on their radar.

its sad all around.  but if she's had the bird for 26 years I would not suspect she is anything less than loving of that bird.  I don't agree... and as a former resident of PA i can TOTALLY see it happening there.  They are illegal here in KS and its not a big deal, many people own them, but gov't is much more relaxed here.  i think it is a sad story.  But I also think the law is outdated and irrelavent at this point.  Too many other states allow it.

Many voted for BIG Government and this is one of the consequences.  They will get into every aspect and try to control it.  They are now trying to be able to override parents decisions regarding their children.  It's just the beginning ..

I really hope he's okay. I didn't know he was taken in March. Wish we knew the whole story.
