With that early frost and slush storm we had all our apple trees are bare!  I don't think our creek has much water in it either.  A family of 3 deer have been here the past 4 days in a row....poor things with no apples to eat!  I have been putting out the un-eaten mush for them....it's always gone so someone is at least eating it.  Way back from the house is a compost so there may be some scraps in there they can eat.
I keep a terracotta shallow dish on the deck for the birdies and chips....someone knocked it over and it broke so I am assuming it was either Raphie the raccoon or a deer.  Now this am I find our lounge chair knocked down (we have it open and across the stairway so Z doesn't fall down the stairs) and a small table moved....so I am wondering if the deer family made themselves at home on the deck?
I'm so bummed about the apple trees cuz they fed a lot of critters not to mention us and the fids!  :pipen:

Watch out for ticks this year. With the critters moving into the city for food we've found several ticks on Hooch, and a couple on us. Deer don't usually move or knock over things, but a bear will. We've had a bear in the alley behind our house. THe apple trees that are close to fences and house here have apples, but the ones in the middle of peoples yards have none, so it's gonna be iffy here as far as enough apples for apple eating critters.

With our Spring beginning in mid March it fooled the apple trees.  They then started blossoming VERY early and then we had the big frost.  That combined with the record heat and record drought fouled up my apple trees  sadboy3  A bear is possible as on the right of our home there is a 40 foot slanted ravine into the creek that is all wilderness.  I hope not as when it is night I take my pees out back sometimes and would hate to pee on my self cause a bear surprised me  :deer:  But hey, I have had bear steaks and not bad at all  think
