I was on the Thruway earlier this morning and a car was in the next lane to the left and a little ahead of me. I saw his break lights go on and what looked at first to be a blown tire that was shooting up. It was a deer, a large buck. I watched as it flew about 10 feet in the air coming down and almost hitting my car. I saw bones snapping in half and also particles of bones hitting my windshield. It happened so fast and it really made me sick inside. I hope he died instantly and kinda ruined my day

Oh that is so sad...and sickening. We hit a moose once. It was terrible. I can't imagine not stopping!!! :pipen: what an idiot. In our case we were not hurt, although it did ride up our windsheild and back down again. It did not set off the airbags or break the windshield. I don't know how it did so little damage. And we were not hurt! But the moose got up and hobbled away, with a badly broken leg. I felt sick to my stomach afterwards. We hope the state police officers found it and put it down, but we don't know. Some people just don't make sense. I would thing it would have done some damage to their vehicle!! I am sorry you had to see that.

Yeah I don't understand that if the deer flew ten feet in the air, they obviously have had to be going at a good speed. You would think the car would be damaged to where they cant really drive away.

That was the biggest thing I surprised about. They must have clipped him just right. I was expecting major damage to that car.
