Title: Guess the location?
Post by: BuffaloParrot on January 27, 2009, 09:55:43 am
OK, this is how it works.  State a Parrot and whoever guesses what continent(s), territory(s), and/or region(s) it is from goes next!

I will start with an easy one... The Budgerigar/Common Parakeet

It is native to central and eastern Africa.  The name commemorates the German ornithologist Bernhard Meyer.  Meyer's parrots are native to the plateau woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa where they occur in several woodland types including miombo, savanna woodlands, wooded grasslands and forests bordering watercourses or agricultural land. They are found in high densities in the Okavango Delta region of Botswana.   :)
