Title: My dessert contribution for Valentines Day.
Post by: Nakia on February 14, 2012, 09:24:16 pm
Well I finally got my desserts I was going to make for Valentines Day made. The cherry cream cheese Danish is for the brisket meal we will have at work tomorrow night. I have to go back to work again.  :2sadk: So I have to wait another day to enjoy it. I've made it before so I know it is good & yummy.  :happyjack:

I didn't get to make the pumpkin cream cheese Danish. One of my crescent roll cans was bad, the dough was dark, hard & didn't feel right. I bought all 4 cans Sunday while shopping & all had the same expiration date (April 22). I just didn't want to get dressed & drive the 12 miles to town for another can. Sooo, I made pumpkin cream cheese with pecans pies. It made two & they came out quite tasty!  :smile3:

I don't cook many desserts for home anymore since it is just the two of us & Jerry doesn't eat enough of them. That leaves it up to me to finish them off. And I've already had two slices of the pie I kept.  :dinner: The other will go to work too.

Anyway, BPMar it did work with the pumpkin, but since I had to make pies instead, I just mixed the cream cheese in with the pumpkin. With the Danish I wanted to layer it like the cherry one.  :cwy:
Here are the pics of my hard work.  :twirl:

This is the pie before I added the whipped cream topping.

With topping.

And finally my first slice. I definitely won't show you what I looked like after polishing off the 2nd piece!

The pie really tasted more like just a creamy pumpkin pie since I mixed it together. Should have went ahead & layered it too.  :slaph:

Thanks, I can't wait to get to eat some of my cherry one tomorrow night. There should be plenty left for me to take home, desserts don't go as fast as the main courses. That's why I like to make dessert for my contribution, I like my leftovers!
