I am not sure if there is a way to tell a lovebird male from a female before they are 9 months... is it also by the shape of their eyes? If so then here is a picture:
The blank one was supposed to be of Pixxy on a closeup of her eye

there are mail order DNA kits you send a drop of blood to them and they send the results back to ya. Zoogen maybe ?? Can't remember. Or you can have it done at the avian vets.
