I decided to add to my flock this weekend.. maybe it is because I am missing my dad this weekend and want tofill the void, maybe it is because Victor still seems lonely and colbie won't preen him and he looks like he has dreads.  stupid1

I went to the pet shop to get hamster bedding and stopped by the budgie cage, and two caught my eye.. I went home and could not stop thinking about them.. I went back at around sunset and had to get them.

sooo.. meet Nerhi (the white one) (ner-EYE) it is a turkish word that means "moonlight" and with him/her being all white it fit.. also because she (I keep saying she? ) reminds me of a dove and with it being father's day weekend and my first weekend without my dad I felt the void.. and the dove is a spiritual reference.. dad spoke Turkish and loved the language and culture (lived there in the Air Force in the 60's)  and I think he would have liked it.. it is such a BEAUTIFUL name ...

Easter Daffodil was soooo beautiful in color and personality, I picked her instantly. she has these colors like muted easter spring colors, and soft and sweet and not a mean bone in her(?) body.. she let me touch her foot last night.

the other budgies took to them IMMEDIATEly, talking to each other... and they did not do the slick down-freak out-not moving-not eating-thing that new budgies always do.. they were already playing and eating and comofrtable.. it was awesome..

so to make fathers day not so sad, I added to the famil, the idea is to have them all together.. I think it wil be awesome..

Congrats, they are both vert cute.  loveuk  I see you are questioning if you have a girl, it's hard to tell, they are both very young and haven't gone through their first molt yet. It looks like Nerhi has a hint of blue in the cere and may be a make and Easter Daffodil looks more on the female side. In another month or so you should know for sure.

WOW! They are BEAUTIFUL!!  Your Easter Daffodil is so very beautiful, his colours ceryainly remind me of spring! Nerhi does look like a dove, so very pretty! They will be a special reminder of your Father, he'll be looking out for them. I was thinking of my Dad today also and missing him too, I took Powder for an extra long walk & just remembered him.
I agree they sure look like boys to me also!

they are beautiful wishy!!!! im inclined to agree with mi, daffodil for sure is a boy, no doubt... nerhi might be a girl tho as she has slight white around her nares... i'm undecided on her but i think i'll go one boy and one girl.  if not then two boys...
