Okay so all you guys I believe know that i got my cockatiel from my friend who tiels got busy in bed lol.  She has been fairly lucky with them being healthy atleast i believed we lost one due to the fact it hatched a couple day later.  Also one of the cockatiels i learned like 2 weeks ago that was in a home for a month or two which was part of cheerios clutch.  And we lost a couple eggs due to her cat falling on top of the nesting box 2 survived.  So she decieded to sell three to a pet store to get rid of them pretty much I wasnt really happy bout this much rather have her find homes herself but i have no control over her decisions.  For three birds she got 100 dallors.  Well she told me she wasnt going to breed them again because the last time the mother got sick and I thought i convinced her that there to many and its to dangerous.  Well the other day she texted me and  asked when i thought they could breed again.  IM like aye! The breeding season she laid 3 clutches one clutch never hatched so im like they arent ready and you really shouldnt breed them again there an over population of birds especially cockatiels and smaller parrots.  and i showed her scbr site well she went on it and was like oh i want a cockatoo.  I was like there alot of work and are quiet loud she was like oh ill deal with it but shes really i believe not ready.  So i told her cages cost 500 which is kinda true but you can find cheaper i also told them that they dont sell to younger people (sorry chance)  But shes not ready really for another parrot.  So now shes deciding weather to breed her birds again or not.  I believe though that shes doing it for the money now and lost why she started.  :'(  I dont know how i can possibly get her to realize she shouldnt breed.

Oh boy.  She actually thinks she's making money, huh?  All you can do, kid, I hate to say, is what you've already done.  I am just afraid she's going to end up learning a hard lesson, possibly at the expense of her birds.  She needs to keep the cat away from them, too, in any circumstances.  Some people can not be persuaded, no matter what you do or say.  At least Cheerio is safe with you.  I thought about allowing my budgies to have babies, but it is too risky.  Besides, I wouldn't be able to part with any of them, and would end up like that man in Germany with over 1000 birds in my house! :o

You did the right thing by showing her a rescue. Not sure if she saw these, so I will post them for you to show her, this is what happens to tiels from inexperienced owners. Not pretty

Sometimes it takes something like this to wake people up.
As for wanting a Too, theres more to them than being loud. I have 2 of them and have had my ear pierced 3 times by Sydney, they can also be very aggressive and moody, not a bird for someone inexperienced with large birds. I hope you can convince her not to breed, our shelter is filled with tiels and so are the stores, we do not need more to end up in shelters. Please make sure she sees this post, maybe it will help.

Yes, I am happy to say she is doing fine AddEmoticons04239, we put medication on the wounds and kept her clean and isolated for some time. She is now happy with the rest of our flock.

This is just a small part of the "ugly" the Parrot world doesn't know about or refuses to acknowledge.

I saw first hand a while ago, and some photos and then again today of a large number of breeder Tiels they had in.  They were in such rough shape it was so sad.  Today they are beautiful and loved.  It is a shame what had happened to them!

No worries, I get what you mean  AddEmoticons04239  sadly tiels are your number one throw away bird,I am not quiet on how I feel about breeders, there are some who actually care about the birds, but when you start breeding for money, you don't care about your birds, you care about making money, so these once loved pets now become money machines, and then when they don't produce out the door they go and new ones come in.

Please try to get your friend to understand .
