So for those who are or have used harnesses with their fids, which is better.... The Aviator or the Feather Tether and why????? I think I had the FT (which Wishy has now) for Kito and it just scared me but that was a long time ago. Just wanted some info in case I want to try again....maybe with Squigg? He may be a good candidate I think.

I bought a feather tether for $3 just to try it because I've heard the aviator is better. I think the sizes are weird or I just don't know how to work them. :dufus: The extra small is too small and the small is too big. If you can get it really cheap I say try it, but if not I think it'd be better to get the aviator.

actually Mar, the harness you sent me was a M and I needed a S for Julian, I could send it back to you? the feather tether has less adjusting and with a smaller bird this is ideal. I also have the aviator for Julian and there was so much fussing with straps and threads that he was REALLY upset by it and and by the time we were done it looked like he was tangled in a spider's web.. lol!! what I really wish was that they made a bird diaper/flight suit for birds that was the vest only, so they diaper was not in the way..

Yoshi has the feather teather and HW the aviator. I LOVE the aviator. I felt there was too much fussing with the feather teather...opposite of Wishy so I guess it is each their own.

I have the ft for Cheyenne and I like it now that I've gotten used to how it works. I think it's best for big birds though, it seems to be too bulky for small ones. So I'd say aviator for small (maybe medium too) birds and either one for big birds :) I just bought an aviator for Cheyenne so I'll be testing it out soon

i use a feather tether on mojave(green cheek) its not bad at all.. i have the aviator to and he wont let me put the aviator on him but is ok with the feather tether. i guess it all would depend on the bird as each one is different.

All of mine are feather tethers and I love them. However I do think its too bulky for Talon but fine fore Tuki, Jax..etc. I think its the price of the aviator that makes me not bother trying since I had success with the FT.

I've used both with my birds and ended up tossing the FT. The Aviator is much easier to use, just slide the strap one way put in wings, slide the other way put in other wing, tighten up. The FT had too may clips that rubbed, got tangled, it was just a fight to put on.
