Baby Savvy has started to grow in some blue feathers!  Baby number two has yellow flights growing in, and it looks like they will both be dominant pieds.  Too early to tell with rascal number 3.  happyjack

There was a baby in Keiko's clutch that was the same blue/slate color but she was not pied. Its such a pretty color. I love the pics.

Does Savvy look like a slate to you?  I was really hoping that Keiko might be able to pass that color down to his offspring--it's so pretty.  happyjack

Here are some new pictures of my three babies!  The other four eggs are past the hatch dates now.

Savvy:

Whenever I open up the box, Savvy starts making a ton of noise, and will come jump up into my hand--he loves to come out and explore for a bit.  happyjack

I've decided to name baby number two "Pagosa."  She looks a lot like Keiko so far--I wonder if she will get the green collar marking too.  happyjack

On another form, somebody was telling me that they are both cinnamon colored budgies...what do you all think?  confused

I think savvy will be slate, he might start off a bit lighter in color. His sister started with more of a blue tint but Devyn said after her first molt she was slate for sure. I remember her pins looking just like Savvys. As far as cinammon, does she mean cinnamon wing? Thats possible but I cant really tell either way right now.

BPMar!  dmblaf

The poster on another forum thought they would all have the cinnamon wing markings, like this:

(Image from http://www.budgieplace.com/colors.html )

Their dark wing markings look pretty dark to me, but maybe they would lighten with each moult?  Or maybe the person on the other forum is wrong?  I guess we will have to wait and see!

Pictures from 5/9/2011:

Pictures from 5/10/2011:

It looks like chick number 3 will be a normal colored budgie (not a dominant pied).

Savvy:

Can't quite figure out Savvy's tail--the top feather is half green and half blue.  Very unique!  happyjack

Pagosa has started to perch on my hand now:

Here are a few pictures I just took of the three babies.  Chick number 3 really needs a name...if my calculations are correct, I think it will be a boy.  I was originally thinking of the name Ocala, but I'm not sure if it will suit him.

Anyway, here is baby Pagosa.  Her temperament is more mellow and relaxed than her older brother Savvy.  She seems to take after her mom with that!  She has a lot of green coming in.  happyjack

Baby Savvy exploring the play pen.  He is extremely active and vocal--like his dad Keiko.

I got a close up picture of his wings--it does look like he might be a cinnamon, but I'm not sure if this is how all normal babies start out or not.

Savvy and the youngest baby:

I'm excited to see what color he feathers out to be.  loveuk

UPDATE 5/14/2011:

Here are a few pictures I took this morning.

Savvy:

His wings markings seem brown, not black.  I think he may be a cinnamon.  happyjack

Pagosa:

She is feathering out to have a lot of green!

Ocala:

I'm pretty sure he is going to be a yellow and green budgie.

Wow, I am amazed at their colorings, that is so cool to see.  Little Sav could almost look like a zebra! :twirl:  It's interesting to see all this fluff with some coloring mixed in.  They are so precious.  Are you keeping them?
