This is a great item to have for those of you who trim their own birds nails, or for those times you need to towel your bird(s). http://avistraint.com/index.html

ok not seeing the humor
i was implying that if the fid got loose while being groomed it would kill someone hence the need for a funeral home. (it was quite obvious to me that she accidentally copied the wrong link.) but it looses something in the translation. btw: i've seen the avi-straints its similar to a straight jacket for fids. to hold them still for grooming and medical procedures. this is most likely the link she meant to post: http://avistraint.com/index.html

Oh sheesh, can you imagine how hard it would be to keep that thing on the bird? It reminds me of that product that came out a couple years ago that looked like a spherical cage that fit around the bird's head. It was meant for temporary use during grooming as well. Or to prevent from biting, I can't remember.

Sorry about that, am having puter glitches. Will fix my original post. Actually the Avi-straint is super easy to use and reduces accidents to both humans and birds, & can be put on by one person. Ever have a wing slip out on you? Imagine a bird panicking and swatting you on the bridge of the nose with a wing, you end up with 2 black eyes and the bird is injured too. Vets use this product on birds and it seems to calm them down while they are in it. You can't over tighten them and cause damage to the bird like you can when you try to hold onto a bird. They are also GREAT on birds who are injured as it stops them from thrashing and doing more damage. My vet showed me how to hold a bird by their neck without hurting them and how to use the Avi-straint, it is really worth the money!

I could use a beak restraint for Julio I remember that head thingy...heck I wouldn't have used that on any of my fids. Wonder if I could make one of these avit-stranit's..
