make such a huge difference in fids. Skittles has now got a full set of flight feathers. After being clipped for at least most of his life, if not all. Now two years ago i let the evil vet cut every feather he had, including secondaries, down to the shaft. So it took all this time for them all to grow back in. So tonite i'm standing in the livingroom watching tv with skittles on my shoulder. (why was i standing instead of sitting? i dont know. i do that sometimes when i have skittles with me) Apparently skittles decided he wanted to be on his totem pole. So he flew to it. no problems. no strain. no heavy panting after the little flight. He's definitely getting better. I guess i need to get the flight line for his aviator, cause i see a parrot flying around me in the future.
BUT! That opens a whole new can of worms. Its florida. we have hawks, eagles, buzzards, and many other raptors around here. So now i'm worried about THAT! <SIGH!!>  Ya'll think i worry too much?  confused

you are a mom, is there such a thing as too much?

you can only let out as much line as you want so he won't go to high.. :)

he scans the sky more than you do, he will let you know if he sees anything scary!

well, it's always good to be cautious.  But predators are everywhere. here in Colorado, we have hawks etc in our city backyards. Take some points from E. Make sure you have optimal control of that harness. And keep a lookout. You can do that,no?  And besides, Skittles will let you know when there is danger around. PM E, he'll help.  thumb  and have fun! clap

Make sure the harness is snug on him especially if he's flying as a loose harness will slide off if he panics. Happened to a friend of mine when a hawk flew down to "inspect" the Macaw she was walking, Rose panicked, slid out of her harness and took off. It was 3 days before she was found 2 miles away in the woods.
