i got this two months ago. had too many other new things going on so i didnt want to throw it out to them right away. and then i forgot i had it. lol!  dmblaf  i ordered two different flavors but the brilliant packers at dr. fosters sent me two of the same: tuscan dream. its an instant one. its very very similar to beak appetite. smells great. skittles nibbled at it saying "mmmmmmm, good" over and over... then he stole the spoon and threw it to rocky! lol! marley dug right in and ate the whole tablespoon that i offered. ollie did the same, even grew himself a nice ole food beard! <grin> twiggy stood in the corner and yelled at the new food for touching her grapes.  dknow  she's usually a bit slower to accept new stuff than the other 3. overall, i think it's a pretty good one. and the beak appetite sometimes had a ...... unpleasant odor when it was cooking, this does not.

Not sure what it is about Beak Appetite but my birds will not eat it! They love most everything in the meals though. Maybe I'll give the Higgens a try and see if they'll eat it.

thank you for the review, I wanted you to sample it (well, you know what I mean) and let me know.. I just got the Nacho Frijoles one, I can cook it tomorrow or Monday, maybe TUesday. (busy next couple of days)
Ollies reaction surprised me the most, that is a good endorsement from an old crotchety wild-caught bird. you cracked me up about Twiggy.. I imagine her with an apron and a rolling pin just fussing about everything.. LOL

So glad to hear the good review. I've been wondering how long until a similar product hit the market.

yup wishy, i think if i would give her a rolling pin she's be happy to use it! lol! she's such a funny girl.  ollie is actually pretty good with new foods, i can say that about his old owners, they must have offered him a very wide variety. cause as long as i show him its food by putting it to my mouth, he'll give it a try. skittles is a bit more clever, if i pretend to eat it, he pretends to eat it.  dmblaf

i have actually wondered if the beak appetite was bought out by higgens, they actually use the beak appetite name in their descriptions. if i didnt know better i'd swear it was the same product... maybe a few little changes but it does look the same even if it doesnt smell the same.

never tried the pretty birdy banquet. sorry.  dknow

Is Pretty Bird a KayTee product? If it is I won't try it as KayTee experiments on animals.

They are their own company.
