You ever see those wine bottles with a hole cut in the bottom back and then the tiny xmas lights put in??  I thought it would be neat to do this but also put our parrot feathers in it as well  thumb.  I stumbled across something similar; http://www.etsy.com/listing/66358332/coconut-jack-coconut-rum-bottle-bartable  and just thought the feathers would be a good touch!  I was going to make the reg ones for my friends that had given me wine but didn't have the right bit for the drill.  Hardest part of the thing (Although not hard to do) is the hole in the bottle, fill with the lights and feathers!

You could use any kind of old bottle, mason jar...fish bowl!  Heck if ya didn't have anything I am sure you could find something at Salvation army, flea market, walmart etc.  The lights are cheap too....dollar store usually has them..and the feathers are free!....kind of :twirl:

I used to make Potpourri jars with lights in them, no need to cut thru the glass either.
Take a mason jar, add a strand of 25 mini lights, leave cord coming out the top, add potpourri, cover with pretty fabric and glue into place with ribbon.
