We met 2 foreigners this morning. The guy in black is from Tajikistan and the owner of the hand (in the pic) is an Iranian.
The Iranian was very persistent in touching Cocoa in spite of being bitten. Cocoa was so mad, she flew up and attacked him. The Iranian's thumb was badly bitten.
I have never seen Cocoa attacking a human before!!!

Is that blood on the bench?  I guess the guy wasn't familiar with the warning signs of a parrot to "back off".  Maybe she was protecting you dknow

Sometimes I worry about you and Cocoa.   I really hope she gave it to him good. Too bad the finger remained attached. Arrogant ass!

Haha! Actually I didn't warn them about not to approach a parrot their way. I want them to have a good "feel" from Cocoa. But I never knew Cocoa would attack that guy.

Yikes!  I always feel bad if someone gets nipped by my bird, I can't even imagine how I would feel if they were badly bitten.

Well ...  Cocoa had already given him warnings. Since he didn't want to heed those warnings he had to learn the painful way. Furthermore, I told him Cocoa bites strangers before they tried to pet her.

One thing I noticed, and I wonder if anyone else did how he was approaching her with his hand held OVER her head.  No no.  In the parrot world, predators often come from above [hawks, etc] so that didn't help him to be friends with her.  Also the fact that the moron would not listen when you told him basically not to mess with her.  It's a shame that in this world you can't just go where you want to without being bothered.  But if you needed help, nobody would be around at the time.

she could be an ARMY RANGER!!  rambut2 (not as much swimming, LOL)

I see the wood chipped on the bench (I thought it was blood too) AND if you look close at the pic mar, smeared blood on the thumb joint??. moron. that must have hurt like hell too,

I saw the hand from above and I am like, "REALLY? that is a quick way to tick off a parrot!!" noticed him using the other hand above her head in the last shot, guess he wants missing thumbs? I am not surprised she attacked, they weren't listening! and she was really threatened! was there a language barrier?? shaking the head is NO in every language, what idiots!

look at her all puffed up and pissed, HE-LLLO! STOP!  stop

Some (from other forums) criticized me for my handling of the situation by putting Cocoa under distress. I just can't understand why some people are so sensitive. I know they love their birds very much and so do I. A Grey is not a fragile bird that can easily breakdown. Cocoa has lots of outdoor exposure and has met hundreds of strangers. She has played with the boys at the playground who were very rough. I allowed this to happen because I wanted her to experience some rough handling so that she can be a braver bird, not easily get spooked. That Iranian wasn't trying to harm Cocoa. And I don't see Cocoa was under distress. Cocoa is one hell of a bird who can be very rough. None of those who criticized me had ever seen how rough Cocoa can get.

Those "other" people probably don't know you maybe the way we do.  I know you would never let Cocoa be in harms way.  She is very socialized and acclimated to many different situations and places.  Our flock is not, as I am sure those people's fids may not either.  You are a knowledgeable parront and are letting Cocoa experience many things.....more than some of us humans here experience!  thumb
