i thought there were laws about banding as well.  confused  even tho i had skittles' band removed i still have it and i have the vet bill where it was removed in case there is any question about it.

I believe if they are not banded they can not be "sold".  Our babies are not banded and some have been removed by our vet with the band and a certificate with it as well.  I personally do not like them as far as them having them on all the time and not for ID reasons.  Not sure if the laws are different in other states.

Jane's band had to be removed as it was crushed...how we have no idea.  Julio took Chico's off :ugstpd: and Kito's did not fit properly so it is off as well.  I do have all their baby bracelets though!

I looked at the AG laws for the state you live in and birds sold must be banded or be micro-chipped.

the regulations state that they should be not that they must be.

This comes from page 7 of the document, "A numbered leg band, microchip implant, or other appropriate means should identify new birds." 

I will be asking the owner about bands today
