They have been around for years. They are awesome for someone whose birds are not trained to take meds, one person can do it no problem & they are great at the vets when blood and other invasive tests need to be done. It actually protects the birds from hurting themselves or being hurt when at the vets.

how does it go on? I would think putting it on zuri like at the vet say would be more trouble than it is worth. I can totally see them hurting themself, remember Zuri puncuting her own wingy?

restraining for administering meds. I would like to see how it goes on and how different is it from a towel?

i could see a use for meds and such but all the years i spent as a tech we always just used a towel. i dunno...just seems easier to use a towel versus having to adjust something to make it fit or having everything just so to make it fit. seems like it would create more stress than a towel which you can cover their head with too if need be to help calm them.

same here. Have you guys seen the infomercial on the ideal spaghetti maker contraption. They show a poor housewife in distress over which pot to use, getting burned and fatigue over the hot steam. What is a poor simpleminded housewife to do? Who will save today's idiot? Sound the trumpets bring in the revolutionary "pasta Boat" http://www.jennyreviews.com/kitchen-and-cooking/pasta-boat-microwave-pasta-maker/ Scary thing is it got 5 stars. make the connection?

With a towel it's a bit difficult to get to certain areas of the body and usually two people are needed to do most anything - one to hold the bird and the other to administer meds, or find the vent, etc. With this item you can put it on one handed and one person can do whatever is needed doing - you don't need two sets of hands. A while back I saw a video of them putting it on and it goes on easy, and only cinches so far because you buy for the size bird you have. Imagine trimming nails without needing two people, one to hold the bird, keeping the head covered, the towel held tight enough so the bird can't get wings out, search for feet, get a toe, hold it so that your partner can trim - with this you simply wrap, grab a toe and trim. This isn't a gimmick it's a useful tool for birds that freak at the vets. Many avain vets ordered these and use them. I was going to order a set for my vet, but at the time they were $65.00 each, too much for me!
