Welp after almost smashing off a State troopers car door me and mom made it to Petco to look for some dishes for the keets. I must admit, I was somewhat impressed! On the cage where they were selling a Quaker there was a big sign that said to look into Adoption First! :D What do ya know..Improvement AddEmoticons04239

2 petco's up here no longer sell parrots, when they do have a parrot in the store, its from MARR's. They only promote adoption. They also donated all there cages to our rescue. Now the wife wants to no longer use the stackables, say's the birds in the lower cages don't like it. Good thing we have a room in the basement with many spare cages,,hehehehehe It took me 3 trips to bring all those cages home, now the boss no longer wants them.....geeeez.

That's great! I love how Petco has animals for adoption. I wish Petsmart did. BrokenWing- I know of a rescue that would love those cages, if you can't have them anymore! I help them out a bit, and they're really nice people in Lino Lakes, MN. Their name is PAEP- Parrot Adoption and Education Program.

To be honest, our rescue is struggling right now, I have been out of work now for 3 months.. So, I would think the wife will attempt to sell them, or hang on to them for the future, one never knows. We have re-homed 4 birds, and took in 3, and now there maybe another Amazon coming our way. Not that I would not wish to help out another rescue facility...but this one here...is in trouble....

Petsmart here has adoption and signs that say "Think adopting first". Maybe it just depends on the individual store?

Our Petco here still sells birds I wish they didn't -conures and Indian Ringnecks. Now, they do have toys to play with in the store, and I know the animals see a vet if they are sick (because they use the vet that I do) but I still think that those birds could go to anyone who has $$. Petsmart sells birds too here- cockatiels, budgies, doves, and finches.
