Making a very long story short, cause I want to go watch NCIS, the other day at Petco, I was desperate to buy the fids nightly before bedtime snack, Avi-Cakes. The packages they had on the shelf where well past expiration. I bought them anyway at half price. Of course the food was so hard, the fids had a hard time picking at it.
I wrote a letter to the company, telling them how unhappy my fids where.  I got a email letter of apology and how they stand behind their products and was all very wonderful of them because they also wanted to replace the 2 fresh packets for fresh product.  I get this box, via UPS today and I tell ya, I was moved to tears!

Just look at all the goodies! I wanted to try the stuffer ones for a long time!  And look at that colorful amazing literature. It's so pretty I almost want to frame it!

And just twook how happy those 2 are!  Moral of the story...not sure there is one. Except ..wow! how nice of them.

Aren't they cute!  Bet you didnt know they could walk on water.  goober By the way, they've just started eating, you should see what my desk looks like once they're done!  slaph
So many erasers you say? Well, there is a very good reason for that.  As infrequent as I use pencils, when I do, I use art pencils that dont have erasers. But the second I turn my back on a newly capped pencil, his majesty sneaks over and gnaws it down to a nub!   madst There are days that I have to replace eraser caps 3 times!  That is why I buy them by the pallet loads at Sams club now. dknow

I really like LeFebers, I have used customer service in the past and thought they were awesome and totally stood behind their product.  Yoshi is the only one that will eat the pellets, though all like the nutriberries and avicakes.

And you know Lorek, I did ask the clerk why they where being sold, and she said, I guess we didnt notice, and probably sent from distribution like that. then she adds, or maybe from the manufacture already expired. !!! bugeye She was lucky I wasnt her boss.
So I put that in my letter to Lafeber's and  c/serv replied back, they would no way ever send expired stuff. And the stores should know that they can send back expired stuff for fresh. I guess there was a lesson here after all, make sure to check your expiration dates! For all animal foods. Actually, all foods!

wow! deb! that is amazing! mine are hot and cold with avicakes. last time i gave them any rocky ate most of them cause skittles and marley stood by the edge of the cages and picked pieces off and threw them down so they could watch rocky run around licking up the scraps!  slaph  crazy fids!  i, too, love pip's beautiful crest. as a matter of fact they're both beautiful. <sigh> i do love the tiels.  loveuk

i've seen out of date product on clearance at our local petco too. including some beak appetite... of course its been a while. i buy most of my fid stuff online now. its cheaper, even with shipping cause i have to drive 40mins to an hour one way to get to petco or petsmart.

when we have out of date product we have people try to play lets make a deal. they get really snarky when we tell them we have to "send it back" once we know its out of date and not only can i not discount it but i cant sell it at full price either.

WOW! I like your care package! and I saw "water reflections" on the wall, then I saw your desk...I know they aren't on a mouse pad lilly pad, so what is up with your cool desk top? I really like the water stuff on top of your desk! I really like that they sent you such nice things, they do have nice stationary! shame on the pet store for trying to blame the company! i always hand stuff to the manager and tell them it is expired, or take a sharpie to the front of the package and write "EXPIRED" on it. won't sell them! so there. HA!!

tee hee.. Wishy the table top is a thick plastic, which when I get some "disposable income" I will have replaced with plexi.  Cat really hates it because I think it reads as water to her.   :shrk:   I watch her see her reflection, and step cautiously. I can't help snicker when she's not looking. Oh I'm such a little  devilwink
