I was wondering how long do parrots feel pain from injury? I know that Zimba has dealt with injured parrots, how long until they don't seem to be hurting anymore? I want to know if Julian may still be tender or sore.   gimp

I would say the obvious until it's healed. Parrots use thier feel for everything, I'm sure he may tolerate the pain to hide it from others but I am sure he would still feel it till it's healed.

I believe they feel pain just as we do if not more.  I think they hide it very well as they are prey animals and are programmed to do so as to not show a weakness to potential predators.

that was my first thought, pain til it heals over, then tenderness, since the nerves are still gonna be a little raw. with him loosing the nail and maybe the tip of the toe, ya think he'll have phantom pain like humans?
i have a place on my finger that i cut about 20 years ago, it was a deep cut the actually scooped out some meat. if it gets bumped, i have pain in it just like i did when i first cut it.
