Knock on wood we haven't had any issues with keeping the little flocks tail feathers warm.  We put up plastic on the windows where they are and on the living room one as well and I have an over abundance of comforters and blankets.  Last year we had to have our heater replaced and the land lord brought over 2 space heaters so we had a total of 3 going for the day....it was quite toasty!

:twirl: Hey Wishy, when you come in from the cold or one of your adventurous expeditions of climbing and scaling things out doors you can use Julian's heater to warm up your hands...if he is willing to share!  dmblaf

very nice wishy!! i love it! i have the thermoperch for skittles but marley sleeps in his cozy hut, twiggy in her rope ring, i'd consider one for ollie, but i dont think he'll use it. he has a cozy corner, but the stubborn little fid sleeps on his food dish.  dknow  and of course i have a space heater that i have set on 70 in here. drew and i are fine til we have to actually get outta bed, lol! this morn it was 63 in here when i woke up, so i got up, turned on the heat, and jumped back in bed for 1/2 and hour. lol!

Wishy, I'd place the heater lower on the wall because warm air rises and any benefit is going to be higher, maybe drop it to the bottom of the cage. We have the radient heaters for houses, 2 feet x 2 feet square and we place them 6 inches off the floor.

thaks guys! :) this is not one of those things like bird toys...not everyone needs one..but it gets soooo flippin cold in here when the sun is not up, the windows are horrible, so I figured this was a good way to help him with the drafts..he isn't in the direct line of a draft, but cold air gets around.. I put my hand in the air behind the cage and it is tooooooasty! but not overly so...I am really glad I did this, it was a long thought-out purchase, and he can't grab a snuggie if he gets cold  laffhrd
the thermo perch I think he would gnaw on.  slaph

those wood stoves are no joke Bilbomisty! they get the place VERY warm in a very small amount of time!  :glasses:

I am seriously thinking about flannel sheets, my hubby is such a warm grizzly bear that we barely need anything like that, but when i get to bed first, AAAAAAAH! i could freeze in place with how cold the sheets are, and they are jersey knit t-shirt sheets!  coldbrr
