A Raptor center close by will be an issue.
Even finding a wildlife rehabber may be hard to do.
Here's a link that may help you find a rehabber.

Ok, thanks! It was sooo cute the way that when we were all staring at him and saying "how cute", he just kind of leaned his neck back and looked at us like "What's wrong with you? Personal space!" Haha, too funny.

Good Luck to everyone concerned.
When the bird is warmed up and less stressed, there's a good chance he/she will eat and drink.
It would be best to offer fresh hamburger or slices of steak, as always RAW.
There is something wrong, determining what is the hardest issue.
By all means, it really would be best to allow him/her peace, let him/her calm down.
I pray the Raptor center is close by.
This will be very important.
I really do not have enough words to thank all of you for reaching out to help that bird.
Please know....all of you are very special.

I more than likely will not be online much longer, close to my time to get warm between the sheets..hehehehehe...

Please let us know how things are going.

Sending my prayers to all of you and that little one.

Aw you guys, you know u flatter me, but I can't take credit... my brother and a neighbor were really the ones who did the capturing. And the neighbor is keeping him there at his house for the night.  Anways, it doesn't matter HOW it was done, just that it was :).

Goodmorning,
I pray all went well during the night and that little bird is okay.
Here's a link that may help those concerned.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-tailed_Hawk

Your brother and friend obviously knew something was wrong with the Hawk, they reached out to help and contained the bird, many would not do so...Everyone that is involved needs to know....it takes courage to help any animal in need, there are many risks involved. AddEmoticons04239

I have done all I can to trace the band numbers, if this was a Pigeon, I would have contacted the owner already.
I could be wrong but I think the band number is conservation effort and the bird can not be traced back to the owner, "there is only one owner, Mother Nature".
The band number more than likely will tell, the birds age and where and when he/she was banded.

Was there any luck in contacting a Raptor Center?

Arty

It's only eight o'clock here right now, and I have to eat breakfast, but I will SO contact u the moment that we hear anything. :) Thanks for the info Brokenwing, and it has been so helpful.  We are also sending out a plea for anthing else that anyone can provide. We need the help so bad. :)

To be upfront and honest, there's not a lot that can be done, so far you and the others are already doing all that can be done.
I can't express this enough, Make the call to the Raptor center as soon as possible, there should be someone there 24/7, this is extremely important (extremely).
They will tell you what to do.
Good luck

Thank you guys for all your support, but alas I think the next post will be a sad one. Our neighbor called around nine saying that it looked as though he was near the end. We'll call and see to be sure, but I'm almost certain that our little fellow didn't make it. :'(
