On Saturday I meet my friend Janet in Beaumont Texas she is the one that rescued the greenwing macaw. I met her there and then took Chico to his new house and Momma here in Houston, she live about 45 minutes away from me.
It was very hard (on Janet) she has fallen in love with Chico and it killed her to give him away (but she knows it is for the best) and I totally understand not only are GWs my all time favorite but this bird has such an awesome personality! Such a sweet and trusting bird when he has not right to be.
He is now at a wonderful house out in the country where the new Momma Holly is hoping Chico will bond with her 1 Blue & gold that is alone she has another pair that are bonded so this one needed a friend. She worked in a rescue in Austin before moving here so she also has Amazon, Molucan cockatoos & 2 Senegal’s so she is a bird person!
Chico has had no problem fitting in and already giving kisses, taking baths and eating like a pig at his new house, so it was a very good day!

PS I think Chico is on the small side for a GW so I am thinking it's a girl, Holly will have her tested when they go to the vet for the wellness check.

this is Janet saying goodbye to Chico  sad8

This is me & Janet-we meet on facebook & hit it off she is really nice girl.  nails

Here is Chico at his new house & his new Momma Holly

Pretty bird...and hungry after the long ride  dinner

Here are the 2 bonded B&Gs

and here is the B&G that needs a friend

Besides parrots Holly also helps with horse rescue, this is a rescue that she is just fostering while he recovers from abuse & injuries

and here are Hollys horses

so I think we did good, he is in a very good place where he will be loved and well cared for  thumb

You are all wonderful.  Janet for letting go when it is best, Holly for welcoming Chico into her life , and you for making it all happen. I wish I was in Texas so I could give you all real hugs!  hugu hugu hugu

“My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.”

I think that is her plan Debz thumb
Zim that is so wonderful!!!  Janet did a wonderful and unselfish thing and Holly has a great set up!!!!  What fun it must have been to see her home and all.

thinkin3 I think what Zim does is drink all that coffee while at the store trying to sell it and then goes to the wine cellar at night time!  drunkards

yeah I was tired, it was about 2 hours to Beaumount...met with them then 2 hours back then an hour to the new house then back home and I still had a pet sitting job (a couple of kitties that I had to check on) so it was a long day but so worth it.

Yes I had some coffee to go! and then a couple of beers when I got home to wind down, I let Zim stay up past his bed time but since I was gone all day I let him hang out with me for a bit.
