Ok, After trying the aviator harness, which is an awesome product but I think IMHO better for bigger birds (the buckle seems to poke them in the ribs),
I got an avian flight suit.  It was by far the easiest of them all to put on, goes on from the front like a smock, and then adheres with velcro along the spine with a "lanyard" attached to the velcro, with velcro.

they had BRIGHT yellow, sissy sparkly blue and purple (pretty for girls, but he is ALL boy), and camo available; so i went with yellow, he looks really good in it... you put a circular cosmetic pad in the bottom crook of it to be the "liner " for it, and I have to admit, it was nice not to be pooped on for a change :p the design keeps the waste away from the bird (didn't believe it till I saw that with my own eyes) and it was a really nice experience.  this is not for flying because of the short leash design, but the lanyard is designed to be worn as a lanyard around the neck, ( I started that way today) or used as a wrist strap like I have it.  the seller told me I could buy the liners, but these cosmetic pads are the same thing, and i got this whole sleeve of them for a dollar at walmart.

he kinda was wary of it at first, but by far accepted this one the best. once it was on, it was smooth sailing, it was NO where near the drama like with the other harnesses.  Once he is used to this without batting an eye, i will go back to the other one so he can actually fly a bit.

hiding in the jungle underbrush

he went on a salad adventure in the backyard and GOBBLED up the grass, dandelion leaves, and a little clover. (we don't use any pesticides or lawn care products whatsoever on the lawn because the kids roll in it and the dog lays in it.)

hey! this stuff is good!

my Julian, what a big salad you have!

hanging out with the pup, and letting him know who's boss..the puppy is so mellow, I love him..

he had green "lips" from the chlorophyll in the grass, it was so cute :)

Is it only held on by velcro?  I know aviator says its the safest harness...can't come off. How secure do you think that would be on a fully grown headstrong bird like say my Jade or Bella. Would it hold them secure?

the velcro (about an inch wide) is pretty strong, this is better for the little birds like conures and quakers IMO. the aviator harness is the best, and the safest, but for small birds it is the hardest to use (unless the bird is drugged, LOL). they don't make them any smaller than this because it is just too hard to use. (I asked the inventor).  with the lanyard, it is two layers of velcro going on here, I will take close up pics of the way it works.  thumb he walked around fine and stepped up fine, I try to keep hi out of sight for theft purposes so we stcik to the backyard.  my lil old lady neighbor next door loves my birds. she is losing it mentally now (poor thing) so it brings unexpected and random joy. (I wonder if she thinks it was a hallucination later).

LOL, my land is like a fifth of an acre, and that includes the land the house is using. three long running strides and you're at the back fence.  it is twice as long as it is wide, so if you are a child, a small dog, or a parrot, it goes on foreverrrrrr. LOL. he will occassionally turn his head and fidget with the top edge of the harness velcro.  but I distract him and he stops. As long as they are supervised, they are not getting out of the suit.

it is made very narrow so there is room for me to pet his sides, neck, etc. think of it as one of those muscle shirts/tank tops from the 80s that guys wore where the arm pit of the shirt didn't start until near the waist.

I know Petco carries them, I bought it from Pampered Peeps Aviary, the lanyard and shipping were included in the price. I think there are 5 sizes, small, jr small (for GCCs who are slightly smaller than the other conures of the same size range), med, and large, I think x large too. they have trainer harnesses for less $ but you don't get to pick the color.  and you can buy in bulk for multiple birds.

Petco sells them too, and while pampered peeps does not accept returns for disease prevention purposes, Petco may.

I have the feather tether (from Mar), the aviator, and this one.  a lot of $ invested, but you never know what will work for you, you know? I had to try. this one doesn't allow flight, it is designed to take birds outside to enjoy their company and still be safe, which is what I needed.. waaaay too many power lines for flying here with a flight line.

I had the end of the lanyard aroune my left wrist, and sat on the grass and took pics with my right hand. I am so pleased with how they came out, and I could not wait to share them with you guys!!
