You could fly and take him as carry-on. He could sit right under your seat in a carrier. With the new regulations you'd have to take him out of the carrier and let them look under his wings. (yes, they check carry-on animals for bombs! bugeye)

look under his wings?!  laugh that's great. poor ollie would be thinking, "as long as there's no body cavity search i'm okay. but the second they say flip him over, i'm going back to the orphanage!"   laugh laffhrd
