I hate to be the downer here... But has anyone given consideration to the amount of stress, confusion, and anxiety such long trip through many unknown untrusted (to the birds) hands would put on these birds.  One great benefit to flight would be the quickness of the whole ordeal. No time to dwell. I have recieved numerous birds shipped from delta and never had a problem. I also flew jimjam out on delta and Sophie got him well and fine I'd say. Just thinking outloud here. Some food for thought is all.

Its only less stressful if everything goes right on the flight though. Jax was flown delta, what a nightmare! First they thought he was dying because he wasnt perching (DUH! he had papers telling all about his leg issues) so they kept him over in Atlanta I believe...so here I am at the airport in MN and had to go all the way home to WI and then back to MN again bright and early they next am for his new flight. Then I get to the airport and they freaking LOST HIM! It was still pretty cold outside, and he was lost outside! When they found him and I got him his bedding was all wet and his feathers were damp. I know it goes smoothly often but omg I still have nightmares about that day!

Good luck! I wish I could help but WI is a long way off lol

Tim if we can get this all worked out I would be glad to send ya down a Parrotlet  thumb

As far as stress transporting goes, It is way more stressful flying, and with transport everyone here would be transporting, unlike the airlines , We would have some no buddy cargo guys , who could care less about these birds, Its just their job to load and un load , with us, we are all bird lovers and would make the trip as smooth as possible.

there is only one airline that has had zero animal deaths. DEATHS. trust me, if anything bad is gonna happen, it'll happen to me (ollie). the one airline that has had zero animal deaths only seems to fly dogs and cats. i havent called them to confirm that, but i see nothing on their website that implies they will accept a bird. if they will, i would be okay with them cause the animals fly in the cabin. they are not cargo. i'm sorry. i just cant send ollie as CARGO. he's alive. cargo is a box of sweatshirts, not a living animal. i'm sure the travel will be stressful, but the birds are gonna have some stress anyway, they are going into a new home. and that by itself will be stressful for them. i'm sorry, i see what you mean about the extended period of time the birds are in limbo, but i would far prefer that to a 6 hour flight in a dark cargo hold with loud scary noises and the pressure and disorientation that goes with flying. its not like they can chew some gum.  :gomer:  lol! and again, if something can go wrong, it'll happen with me. i just have this weird luck. i once had a plumber tell me  my plumbing problem was impossible, it actually defied the laws of physics. he finally fixed it but he just couldnt figure out how the pipes got the problem in the first place.  :cstars: kinda off topic but the point is, i get some of the weirdest problems. and i just know poor ollie would end up paying the price.

Does anyone remember the post I made about the pet airline? I can't remember who it was....

And as far as the driving....its a small price to pay for a lifetime dream home.
