A severe Macaw came in he is 4 yrs old, seems to be a sweet bird, just very unsure of people right now, once you have him stepped up he is sweet. His name is Poncho

we also got a lovebird in..she is a beautiful lutino.

the people with the red lored Amazon came in to visit us today, they will be bringing him to us this week, I had to bite my tongue while talking to them, the bird yells, so what do they do they run up to the cage shake the cage so he falls out, then to top it off they did this to him last week, he fell out and their dog attacked him Evil or Very Mad then if this is not enough they said to someone else at the shelter today they are going to buy a new bird  >:(
the shelter was so busy today it was non stop all day,Kim and I are beat.

Sorry to hear of your busy day!  These birds are in good hands now!  The Severe?  Where did he/she come from?  I was really attached to one at a chain store here a while back and she disappeared!  I hope this isn't/is my Molly :-\  I don't know what I would do if it was! azn.gif  We will be there soon so hopefully I can see this Severe! The difference between kids and parrots is that it's funny when a parrot talks back.

The severe macaw was surrendered to us by a young couple that bought him from someone on craigslist. They have an illegers(sp) macaw and the severe did not like the girl, he seemed OK with the guy though. He is very sweet, they weren't sure about keeping him but wanted him out of the home he was in. I guess it was pretty nasty and he was in a cockatiel cage, so they bought him to get him a better home. They were very nice people.
As for the people with the amazon, they need to be shot, she was telling me that she wanted a baby bird and then she said to me "  Oh boy, don't let me go home with a bird today" As I was thinking, not a chance in Hell will I let you take a bird out of here. Some people are just clueless and stupid. They should never be able to have a pet of any kind. >:(

“My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.”
