well, i put in an application to the local rescue to adopt. we'll see how it goes. they have quite a few adorable birds. i've always wanted budgies and i know i love tiels. so i'm focusing on either a pair of cockatiels or a pair of budgies right now. i figure i'll try to make it over there either tomorrow or sat to meet the ones they have. they have some adorable B&G's but i just dont think skittles would do well with another macaw in the house. i dont see her willingly sharing me with another big bird. she's my velcro-bird, so i dont think another velcro-bird would be a good idea.

How exciting Tozie!
I still remember our first visit to see Chance....It was an unannounced visit and I think the vet was coming in but she let us come in for a visit to look around.  I loved to hear each and everyone's name and their story.
Good luck to you!

Hey, great! What made you decide to add to your flock?
ever since chance posted about new additions to the second chance bird rescue, i have been looking around at all the poor birdies who need a forever home. obviously i cant adopt from way up north, so i started looking at what's around here. there is one in the closest large city that only deals with tiels and other small birds. and one in tampa that deals with any birds. they are the ones with some B&Gs. i have lots of love to give. with the kids being gone more and more i find i have more freetime on my hands. i cant decide if i want a cockatiel or a pair of budgies. i really miss having a tiel around. they are so unique. and i have always wanted  budgies. i even considered an amazon, but not too sure about that. so i figure i can go to the rescue and see if any birds choose me. i dont want to buy any from a petstore cause there are so many who need help. i wish i could take in a macaw or a too. they need someone who can tolerate their noise and accomodate their size, but i just dont think skittles would deal with another big bird in the house. so, sadly, that's out. i've played with this idea since january, and finally decided to act on it.

I think thats wonderful.  hugu  Rescue is always the way to go with so many unwanted fids. And Budgies and Tiels are 2 of the biggest throw away birds. Bless you for considering the smaller guys. And I'll tell you. I had a friend of a friend ask if I wold take one homeless budgie last summer. That was supposed to be Waldo. Then, it ended up being Pixie and Violet too. "Or her  husband was talking about letting them go"  Then Wanda to even the score. Even though they are not hand tamed, I enjoy them so much. They love to line up and sit and look out their window. They esp. like to watch the sunrise and sunset.  Wanda was  so cute  taking her parsley bath today, and everyone else talking it to death. They are really nice little fids. Way to go.  clap

You could check CL. I see free budgies on there all the time...or for sale for $5.00      People who want to get rid of them now...... there are so many that people don't want.

yup wishy, that's exactly what i was thinking of. and they're just so cute! i could easily go down to petco, petsmart, or petsupermarket and come home with some budgies, but it just feels wrong somehow. idk. they need a home as much as any of the others. so what's the dif? hmmmm, idk.  thinkin3
