Unfortunately all do not share the same love that we do with animals, and who suffers- the poor defenseless critters.  I wish more were like we all here are.
Axel, thanks for sharing that story!  It is good to hear of the happy ending and we would all like to hear updates.
When we adopted Taj & Mahal one of her Macaws had quite the potty mouth.  I guess I should be thankful that the worst thing that comes from our flock is Kito making a fart noise thanks to D!  :twirl:

The biggest problem is education, people are not educated and just buy birds not knowing anything about them... I had a guy a couple days ago saw my car, the hood of my car is my Macaw,he stops and wow that's pretty what kind of bird is that, I tell him and he says where can I get one,So of course now I have to tell this man all about Birds, needless to say he decided he will stick to just owning his dog.
pet stores and breeders do not care about your experience or education, they care more about selling, and its sad  2sadk

Thanks I love my car  clap
anyway what I did is I took my macaw down to a Graphics place, we put her on a table and got her to open her wings, they snapped the picture put it into their computer blew it up and turned her into vinyl ,The place that did it donated it to me,I have had it going on 5 yrs and it is now starting to show wear and tear, but being vinyl it can come off easy and does not do damage to your paint.

Jadez I can so see you sporting a Quaker Mobile  laffhrd

So its like a giant decal, not a paint job? So interesting, and maybe something my hubby wouldn't have a stroke over. He LOVES our cars.

OMG, Those are awful stories!!! sadbigeye cry

I do have an up lifting story...My vet friend has a Green Wing Macaw that I think is like 7. She wants to get rid of her bc Her daughter is (bi pollar)  and is abusing to the bird, plus my friend just lost her unemployment benefits bc the extensions ran out.

My friend thinks she mean- the bird.
Ive clipped her nails before and visited with her and this poor bird doesn't even resemble a GW Macaw. She is tattered and torn looking and very thin.
Ive walked in the door and walked straight to her and held her and petted her and talked to her very sweetly and she was calm and sweet to me. Terri had told me that she never acts that way.

So, My Step Daughter has decided to take her!! handshappy towel and Terri is going to GIVE her away and her double cage!! handshappy handshappy thumb

My (S) ** Hate that phrase! Daughter- Renee has 3 birds and Terri told me that she is willing to let her go because Im going to be involved with the rehabilitation of this bird!!!!
Im very excited to be stepping up to the plate and going to be involved with helping them all.

I wish I could take her, but at this moment, I simply cant afford her neither. Charlie, Axel & Rose are so spoiled....I just cant see bringing someone else in...People tell me that you cant see Charlie for the toys on his cage, but Geez...He comes out and plays for hours keeping himself busy...I cant help it thumb

So, This will happen this coming Saturday, I pray...We are going to the Bird Show Saturday morning and they are meeting up, so I hope we will be spending the evening moving *Lola and setting her up in her new home. worship

Wish us luck!, Just had top throw a positive spin in this forum....

I wish I were closer to help with the rescues!!! hugu

The Re-homing of Lola went wonderfully!!!!

She only wanted 1/2 of the cage because 3 birds had already been taking up so much space in her living room.
I put her in the crate and she rode with Renee' to her new home. I had the cage in my truck and she had the Bird. She told me that Lola sang to he all the way home.
It's been 3 days now, and Lola has been eating like crazy, singing alot, stepping up on everyone without any troubles...hasnt been biting her feathers since the first day.

Come to find out she's looked so tattered and torn because she was biting her feathers in half...so they are all broken off (I saw her do it once)
She has never been preened and isnt used to being on the floor. But she did get on the chair yesterday and Tell Renee.."Hey Momma" while Renee was cleaning the kitchen.

Saturday when we walked into the door, Lola was in the back corner of the Kitchen...
and she told us that she hadnt eaten or had any water all day...because "the previous owner" was at a yard sale all day trying to sale her stuff off in need of rent money and the daughter hadnt helped take care of the bird. The daughter that was screaming at her and been caught banging on her cage.

Anyways....We are immensely Happy that she is out of there. weirdo3 handshappy loveuk
I mean my friend was a vet tech but I swear she had no clue when it came to avian care!!!! handshappy

So, all is good, I really think its going to be a Beautiful match made in heaven.....She is calling me with advise and Lola has been sweet as gold...I think she Loves  :loveuk:the idea too!! littleangel
