Okay so i thought Cheerio and still am pretty sure that cheerio is a girl but she can whistle. Its not very good at whistling like some male cockatiels ive heard but cheerio can kinda wolf whistle. I was just wondering if this could mean that cheerio is acctually a dude. Also her cheeks arent getting any brighter.

How old is she, ernies? My Pearly looked like a female, then wham! Each day a little more yellow on the head! Girls can whistle, too. I've heard not as much, though. :)

Do you have any pictures of her? Male cockatiels generally have much brighter coloring. Also, I've read that most female tiels have barring on the underside of their tails, while males have spots. This isn't always the case, but it seems to be a reliable means of sexing them. :)

From the videos you posted in another thread, I'd say she's a female. However, her first moult should be coming up soon (usually at around 6 months old), so after that we'll know for sure!

Okay i know this is an old post but i think cheerio might be a boy!!! it seems like cheerio face is getting yellower as well as her tail is getting grey but it kinda weird some of her new feathers growing in are remaining grey and others are yellow in her face as well has her tail. Umm... i have a weird bird lol.

I thought Pearly was a girl until the first molt, too. It seemed like every day his head was a little more yellow! :D

I am not still sold that Cheerio is a male. Can you post a recent pic? Our girl gained a lot of color. And does whistle really well. If Cheerio is a boy at least no eggs like you stated! Man! This can be a problem with female Tiels and I know this all too well. PICS! 8)
