i think so. cause up til about a month ago (maybe a little more) skittles was out from the time she woke up to the time she went to bed. her cage was too small and i felt bad for her cause before she came to me she was locked up alot. way more than was healthy for her. so i had a big playgym hanging from the ceiling and another on the floor and she would spend all day on those or on top of her cage. she was fine. but as she gets older i'm afraid she'll start to wander and get hurt...or eat my tv! but anyway, my point is, she never pooped in her cage. i finally got to where i didn't have to put paper in it. there was no reason. the only thing in the bottom was feathers and a few nutshells. she didn't even eat in there...she still doesn't like to. she prefers breakfast on her "porch".
