We are home! All phalanges and metatarsals intact! There was a weeeeee bit of blood but it was from Julio's nail and not a hand. Over all Julio did very well. He got his bracelet off, nail trim and a little wing trim. Quiet as a church mouse on the ride and some squwaks during his spa time. Chico got a nice beak and nail trim and was his usual good self. He did fly around the office a few times before he got weighed. Besides Chico's scissor beak and funky little nail they are both in perfect health! Dr. A is great! She was surprised that Julio is a demon at home for us. She gave us a few tips to work with him on. So all went well and we were more nervous than we should have been!

Dr.A just loved Julio's colors and beauty! He is a handsome guy but she had to turn the lights off to towel him (for her own safety)! Julio only got a partial wing clip as Dr.A and us do not believe in a full blow clipping esp at first. If he needs a tad more we can bring him back for a touch more. The leg band on him was very tight and I told her to remove it ASAP. Hate then damn things! They have been two snuggle bugs ever since we got home and will not leave each others sides! Julio barely let me scritch him an hour after home, and I guess is improvement even though I knew If I stopped moving a way from his beak I would be "chomped". He also did 2 hours later, when I approached their cage kinda went after Chico(a little). Could be habit on both of them and it is the first day and we shall see if any improvements are made? The cutest was when they took Chico into the other room to remove the leg band. Julio is a big chicken and we could here his squawks of help! Chico then was trying desperately to get out of the carrier! Whether he was doing this to help his brother, escape so he did not have to go through it, or see his tormenting/bullying brother "get some" is beyond me?

I'm glad everything went so well. Stressful ain't the word for it. I always breathe a big sigh of relief when everyone is back home and safe.

“My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.” St. Francis of Assissi My rescued and adopted feathered family... I will bet that he was being protective. Pipz is the same way. If he hears Cat squawk He goes nuts in his carrier. Glad to hear everything went well!

Glad it went well, yes it is so stressful on both us & the birds going to the vet I bet they are sleeping like babies now.
