That sounds good to me.  Chico is not a problem.  He is very good when he is out.  When it is time to start with them, well Julio, I will take the cage into the play room and let them come out on their own...again worries are only with Julio and I can put the one play gym by the cage.  Time will tell I guess.  And putting the carriers by the cage before hand is also a good idea.  D does this when introducing new perches to them which seems to work very well.  It worked good with them and Kito.  For Julio being such a demon he is a scardey cat at times!

Sorry, just thought of something about clipping.  J, Chance & Jr. .....remember the summer party?  I can't get that thought when Chance was giving the lesson on the wing clipping.... :twirl:  I know I would be "less" some parts if I tried that with Julio....lol

Great advice and feedback guys! thumb  #1 I would never do anything just to discipline any of my birds.  I hope none of you feel this is why we are doing this?  I used to work with Julio and at time there was progress.  Then it got to the point where I just could not.  He bonded with Mar (non contact) and I started running out of bandages.  He at times even if you are not close to him goes out of his way and attack you.  He is little but he really can do damage!  He is also cage territorial.  I am just hoping this will allow us to work with him and maybe help him with other areas?  It will not be a full clip.  It will be hard to towel him or get him into the carrier no matter as he is deathly afraid of other objects etc.  We will figure it out and make it as smooth as possible.  At least he will not have to go alone as he will be with his buddy Chico.

I used to get Sprout clipped and it made him much calmer.  Other than myself and my mom he was a demon bird to others as well if he was not clipped.  He was not able to drop like a rock and i am never  for that severe of a clip.  He was able to glide to the floor. That is how I do Yoshi too when he is clipped.

D,
It sounds as though Julio and Chico are pair bonded which would explain all of his behaviours. In the wild a bird will go after a mate when they percieve a threat, not to hurt them, but to make them move and that is the behaviour you are describing. They will also bite whatever the threat is close to them(attack if needed). If you want to work with him remove him from the room he is in away from Chico- into say, a bathroom and work with him in there where he can't see Chico. A bird that bites, no matter the size, can draw blood. We have a Tiel who will make mincemeat outta your hand if he doesn't like you or doesn't want you to pick him up.

On this subject......it may be in here somewhere...
I was sure Julio would make mincemeat out of the doc/assistant!  He was not bad!  Doc loved him...he was a good boy and when Julio left the room Chico called for him!
Thanks for that info!
