It depends ion the bird, but the outside of the migratory season (when birds put on extra fat stores for energy), a birds weight is generally distributed as follows:
1. Feathers comprise about 25 percent of a birds weight.
2. A bird has approximately 175 muscles, constituting about 50 percent of it's weight. About half the muscles weight is in the flight muscle-the pectoralis and suprocoracoideus (breast muscles).
3. The remaining 25 percent of a birds weight is made up by the organs, blood, and the skeleton.
