Zimba sent this to me via email and don't think she would disapprove of me posting it here.  I am because people must see.  The book (not vid) talks about many entities between Parrots and People such as Rescues, Breeders, Smugglers/Smuggling of wild Parrots, Poaching of wild Parrots and the wild Parrot pet trade, Sanctuaries, Parrot enthusiasts, Laws, Illegal selling of wild/endangered Parrots, the continuous loss of Parrots habitat, and much more.  All should read this book.

I read somewhere recently that over the past ten years more than 500,000 blue front amazon parrots had been removed from the wild by the international parrot trade. That is NOT a sustainable number and if it is not stopped my poor Asha will not have any brothers or sisters in the wild.  :cop5:

The difference between kids and parrots is that it's funny when a parrot talks back.

I just finished reading it on Monday.  It was very interesting if not eye-opening.  oh  UNREAL how cruel and totally unfeeling the smugglers/poachers can be.  I thought it would be preachy, but it felt more like a documentary that you can read.   I read passages to my husband that I thought were really interesting, and he was actually interested!   confused
