A developing bird is confined inside a shell for 14 to 60 days or more.  How does it eat, breath, and get rid of wastes?
*The yolk of the egg is the nutrition, consisting of about 50%water, 32% fat, 16% protein, and 2% carbohydrates.
*The shell has between 6,000 and 12,000 minute pores, so excnange of carbon dioxide and oxygen is easy.
*Waste products pose the most severe problem because accumulation of them could be toxic in this confined space.  Instead, they are stored in a special membrane called the allantois until hatching.

I wondered about the waste products, I assumed they didn't have waste until birth, like humans ???  that is really cool.

That is interesting, but you forgot to mention the tiny piece of ham and dab of Hollandaise sauce in there.  Now I want Eggs Benedict.

“My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.”
