I've been making this for my fids for days when time is short.  I mix up some cornbread from scratch and leave out the sugar (You could use a ready-to-use mix, but they usually have a lot of sugar in them).  Next, I wash and finely chop a bunch of different veggies: carrot, celery, kale, broccoli, or any other veggie your bird likes (or doesn't like--they probably won't notice it's in there!).  Apple sauce, squash, pumpkin, cooked potato, seeds, pellets, etc are all things you can add as well.  I mix the veggies into the batter, cook, and allow to cool.  It usually won't take as long to cook as the package estimates.  Once it has fully cooled, but into serving sized chunks, put in a ziplock and freeze.  Simply pull out a chunck when you need it!  This is great for the picky eaters, or when you don't have time to chop fresh foods.  :)

Supervision, smupersvision.  They are OUR flock not yours or my flock.  If they want cake...let them eat it!  If they want pizza crust...have at it!.............................I should make some up soon for them.

What a coinkidink! that's just what I did today!
1 box of Jiffy corn muffin
1 egg
1 cup of fruity pellets
4 oz apple sauce
6 oz water
  pinch of nutmeg
  pinch cayenne pepper
  1/2 tsp cinnamon
well, nuuuummmy!  OOhh, ginger would have been an interesting flavor in the mix.
It really was delish.  Cat loved it! Pipz needs a little more convincing.

I've gotta try this. Jade isn't fond of most veggies. I am going to put everything in there she hates and see what happens!  azn.gif

“My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.”
