It is with heavy heart that I relay a message for Angelicarboreals. She has lost Merlin this evening. His death was sudden and unforseen. Before his passing she checked on him an hour prior and all was fine. As you can imagine she is devistated with his loss. Only to have Joey be on the brink of death not long after Merlin was found. She was able to bring him back with some fresh air, warmth and sugar water. It looks as if there was a pocket of gas from a propane heater that was used briefly on Saturday in another room that remained trapped in a hallway and was let into the bird room when she opened the door this afternoon. She recalls smelling an odd smell and that it went away quickly. Of course she did not know about the use of the propane heater until it was too late and made sure it wasn't used in the house again. A natural gas leak is being considered as well and is being checked out. Currently Joey is stable and eating, she is keeping a close eye on him in a recovery tank and has moved all the birds out of the bird room so it can be ventilated. The loss of Merlin and Joey being sick has hit her very hard, please keep her in your thoughts. I will keep you posted on any news with the gas and Joey's recovery. She plans to check in when she can but right now with everything that is going on it's hard to find the words to write.
Merlin~ You were a wonderful little one who brought great joy to your momma. She showed you what it was to be loved and in turn you gave her the same. You will be missed. Fly high Merlin, fly high :'(
