DAGNABBIT * (exclaimation) Oldcootism used during great consternation or surprise. Used by 1890’s prospectors, cantankerous old farmers, and young people playing old people on TV in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s.
I enjoy finding the origin of words and phrases.  smile3

I use it all the time, that and Lollygag. my kids use them too and it is soooo funny to hear "dagnabbit!" and "Stop lollygagging!" coming out of little children.  laugh

I LOVE to find origins of words and phrases too! there are books like "heavens to Betsy" and "it's raining cats and dogs" that explore origins, they are soo cool.. !

New person here. clap, I will learn to use this board :cstars: and get a few photo's up shorthly. I have small and large birds, some are monster's and some are angels. I love them all, I like and enjoy rehabing animal's gimp. Greatest thing for me is seeing, happy people and happy birds. Sorry for small intro.  :oopse5:
Thanks for having me aboard. handshappy

hello, and welcome! sounds like ya got a housefull... er uh... a full house. <snicker> ya know... i traded my hubs for a macaw, best choice i ever made, i'm sure i'd never have been able to stuff him in a cage when he was annoying like i do my dear sweet skittles. <grin> okay... not really, i never stuff my sweet birdie in his cage.  dmblaf
