So whenever I have to buy more food food for the birds, I always get the Zupreem Naturals and a seed/dried fruit mix. Each time, I try a different mix, and once I find the best one I'll just stick with it. (I like experimenting  :D) I'm thinking about going with Sun Seed Parrot Mix or Higgins this time. Have any of you tried either of them?
Their food dishes have 75% pellets and 25% of the seed mix, so it's not like it'll be the majority of their diet or anything, I just use a bit of a seed mix to give them a some variety, you know?

If Goldenfeast and Hagen were cheaper, I'd definitely use those! But since  money is tight, I'm trying to find another mix that isn't as pricey.

i've heard higgins isn't bad... sunseed... well i've looked at their products in the store and personally i find them to be full of cheap filler seeds and not many of the more nutritious seeds.  and i personally would say not to use any LM animal farms if you guys have that.  i've heard far too many people's issues with hartz company and their pets getting very ill/dying... not just birds but all animals.  plus... i kinda figure any brand i can buy at walmart isn't worth my money for those animals i care about.

i also want to add that while i am not a fan of seed mixes premade... i have found that conure style pretty bird has a good mix of nutritious seeds that i like... and no sunflowers in the mix.  so if i had to go with one i'd say either kaytee fortidiet prohealth or pretty bird... or actually (though not that cheap) i find brown's products to be good (i like their encore line better than their gourmet line).... their macaw bites food looks AWESOME to me... too bad i dont' own anythign with a beak that big.

well emily i know that this brand wasnt on your list but i would say try l'avian. my birds love it and i know that bfids uses it too. they have several kinds and they also do a bean mix that you cook. you cant buy directly from them but on their site it gives you places close by where you can get it. i know what you mean about the hagen being expensive.

This is it ML2

http://www.higginsgrpcorp.com/product4.htm

Sunburst D'Lite Diets (TM) are unique blends of seeds, pasteurized, like our Higgins Nederlands Vita Seeds, but with additional fruits and nuts and more exotic seeds that birds really enjoy. These premier Gourmet avian exotic tropical mixtures birds cannot resist. Loaded with natural goodies. You’ll be impressed by not only the premium quality of the ingredients but the quantity of select natural treats.

Sunburst for Large Hookbills has: safflower, sunflower, peas, pinto beans, pumpkin seed, cantaloupe seed, almonds, brazil nuts, walnuts, filberts, pine nuts, pistachios, chili peppers, coconut, carrots, oyster shell, papaya and pineapple chunks, bananas, raisins, extruded pellets (Vita Krunch) and digestive cultures. Sunburst for Large Hookbills is a true Macaw mix with a large variety of nuts in their shell to entertain and exercise the larger parrots.

Guaranteed Analysis - Crude Protein (Min.)….14.7%, Crude Fat (Min.)….17.1%, Crude Fiber (Max.)….13.5%, Moisture (Max.)….9.1%.

I don't know why you cant by direct from Higgins, at least I could not find it.
I first found it at a bird show then ordered it, I don't believe in a 100% pellet diet in nature they eat seed.
We have awesome vet here in town he says 1/3, 1/3 a 1/3
1/3 Pellet
1/3 seed mix
1/3 fruits & veggies

Thank you Zimba! I did a quick search and managed to find where I can buy it in bulk, so I may have to go for it! I also came across where I can buy 32 pounds of Goldenfeast for only $80, so we'll see which one I end up getting when I run low on food.
