Forums for Newbies

Hey everyone! I made this guide just in case some people weren't sure how to use the forums.

Some important notes:
-When I say something like (COLOR=blue) I'm only doing it so you can see it. Subsitute the ()'s with []'s.
-BBC is not case sensitive.
-BBC stands for Bulliten Board Code.

BBC Tags

This part is very similar to HMTL, basically the same, only with [] instead of <>. Use [] to surround the command. I'm going to use () so you can see what I'm saying, substitute those with [].

Bold
This is simple. If you want something to be bolded, type (B)YOUR TEXT HERE(/B)

Underlining
This is also simple. If you want something to be underlined, type (U)YOUR TEXT HERE(/U).

Italicizing
Anything you want italicized, type (I)YOUR TEXT HERE(/I)

WWW Links
This is simple but a bit more difficult that the last few. To make a link, do (URL)FULL URL(/URL).

Example: (URL)http://buffaloparrot.smfforfree3.com/index.php(/URL) == http://buffaloparrot.smfforfree3.com/index.php

*You can also do this: (URL=FULL URL)TITLE(/URL)

Example: (URL=http://buffaloparrot.smfforfree3.com/index.php)BuffaloParrot Forums(/URL) == BuffaloParrot Forums

Email Links
This is very similar to the above. Use (EMAIL)USER@DOMAIN.COM(/EMAIL)

Example: (EMAIL)dafatkid4321@hotmail.com(/EMAIL) == dafatkid4321@hotmail.com

*You can also do this: (EMAIL=USER@DOMAIN.COM)TITLE(/EMAIL)

Example: (EMAIL=dafatkid4321@hotmail.com)Eric's Email Address(/EMAIL) == Eric's Email Address

Images
To do an image you need the URL of that picture. To do this you can go on the Web and right click on the picture. Go to 1. Properties and look for the 2."Address (URL)". Then type (IMG)IMAGE URL(/IMG)

1.    2.

Example: (img)http://www.freewebs.com/airbear222/FerrariEnzo.jpg(/img)

But now I guess there's an easier way to do this. If you highlight the text you want to be changed (or you can skip the highlighting) and just click on the button you want to use. If you highlighted it the tags will automatically surround the highlighted text. If you didn't highlight anything the tags will appear where your cursor is. The buttons are highlighted below:

How to use those things ^^^

1) For this example we're underlining the word "special" out of the sentence "Eric is a special boy."
2) Highlight the word special so it looks like "Eric is a special boy."
3) Click on the big [U] button, as shown in the above picture.
4) You should see "Eric is a (u)special(/u) boy." in your text area.
5) Press the 'Preview' button below the text area, and above the text area you should see what the post will look like. You will see "Eric is a special boy." (for example)
6) Then you can hit the 'Save' button, which is next to the 'Preview' button, to submit your post.
...Please don't go posting "Eric is a special boy." everywhere!...

I think it looks cool big like that, but if you wnated to shrink it you could either take it to a photo editing program and shrink it there, or on Photobucket where it says edit there is a resize option. Then just save it and use the right coding, and Viola. Unless the site header size is set big, then you would have to fix that first or it will just make the pic that big again anyways.
