Nah... the guide thing makes it look worse than it really is. You can essentially highlight whatever you want to bold, for example, and click the big B button and it will do the tagging for you.

Dad, I'll make it bigger when I get around to it. It sucks up a whole 5 minutes of my time just to make it bigger. Plus if I enlarge it now it'll be stretched and the quality will be all blurry.
