I had to share this...
Jack is our Green Wing macaw who had his wings broken and twisted by previous owners,He has been with us 2 plus years now,In this time Jack would never come out of his cage, or interact with other birds,Well for the past two weeks Teke our 4 way hybred has really taken a shine to Jack and has been sitting at his cage all day, Well Saturday we had a huge breakthrough Jack came out of his cage and followed Teke around and they preened each other for hours,I can't tell you the emotion that went through us all watching this interaction,It was just so special to see.

here they are together

That is just wonderful Chance! I have commented before and will again on what resilient creatures these parrots are!

That's very sweet.  What kind of sick, twisted piece of crap would twist a bird's wings?  Thank goodness for you and people like you, Chance!

That is awesome, are you going to move them next to each other or house them together some day? So how to do not beat the crap out of people when you hear these stories? I will never understand abuse it is so frustrating.

The difference between kids and parrots is that it's funny when a parrot talks back.

We have already moved Teke's cage next to Jack so they can see each other when they are in their cages.

The other thing I did was lift Jacks cage off the ground more with cinder blocks, Teke loves to be under cages and poor Jack could not get under the cage no matter how hard he tried, due to his wings, so now he is under the cage with Teke AddEmoticons04239

That is so sweet!  I remember being spied on by Teke from under there!  I am so glad they found each other and what a great thing for you to do to accommodate Jack to fit under there with him!

I have not been able to separate these two all day, so I took Teke cage door off, and put her cage in front of Jacks, so they are together in the cage but have two cages, more room  AddEmoticons04239
