I just posted this on my forum and sharing it here as well.....

I am putting together a meeting, It is time we all sat down, and did some talking and brain storming  on ways to make this rescue better, and bring in more funds to keep us going.

We have not been doing things right, we have not been holding meetings as we should..

I have had to come to realize we are getting no where on the path we are going.

As you all know a year ago I had a huge falling out with a member Cheryl, As much as this may upset some people, I have been talking to Cheryl again, and had her over to the shelter last week, We had a very good civil talk, and we both agreed its time to put our differences aside, and work together for the birds, We may not agree on everything but this is a step in a much needed direction, This is about the birds, not friendships, This is where I have screwed up, I have been more concerned  about friendships and hurting peoples feelings, But things are going to change they have to change if we want this rescue to be a success.

Cheryl is putting together a buisness plan for the rescue , she is also putting together a agenda for the meeting, and she will be present for the meeting...

some subjects will will discuss are...

How much time can they commit to the rescue each week?

Under what capacity can they commit to? Cleaning, Fundraising, staffing, training ect.

What do they feel is the most important aspects moving the rescue forward?

What projects have been successful, what projects failed?

Will they be able to make monthly meetings? If so which day of the week works best.

Limit of birds will we take in..

there will be many more subjects, this is just a few...

So I would like everyone to let me know what day works best, for a meeting, we want to do this within the next 2 weeks...

Cheryl will be going over to the new location with me, and sharing her thoughts, on the best way to use the space, that will also be cost effective....

so please all board members and volunteers who can attend , let me know what day and time works best.

Thank you all for you attention in this matter.....

I wish you nothing but the best, yes I guess you have to look at it like a business and not a rescue what I mean is that it is your business is to keep the doors open and the birds well cared for, you have a big heart Chance  smitten.gif good luck!

The difference between kids and parrots is that it's funny when a parrot talks back.

I think what you did with Cheryl was great. Time for a change...lets give her a chance to help and see what she is made of.  AddEmoticons04239

“My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.”
