Welp, today is that dreaded day for me.  15 Parrots and 9 cages :-[  Then I get to do the lawn :P  I use a scrub brush and pad, rinse the perches with scalding hot water, scrub with poop off and rinse again with scalding hot water before drying.  What method do you guys use?

My fids rarely poop on their perches. I wipe all down with poop off every couple days, and once in a while, scrub with a brush and hot water. Air dry.

We don't have so much as poop on the perches but because they get my mush meal every other day they wipe the stuff from their beaks on the perches.  Stuff gets like cement! >:(

Ha ha D it does get like cememt!  Yoshi does that too.  Zuri not so much, it just ends up getting in the birdie soup.
I use vinegar, hot water and dish soap mix to scrub them with scrub brush.  Works as good if not better IMO as poop off or EZ clean.  Then I rinse in hot water and wipe em dry.  The ropes I air dry.

I feel your pain, I am dragging the cages outside as well to clean. Weekly I just grad a soapy bucket of hot water and a big sponge and scrub away. Every so often (when I think they need it) the cages get pushed out the garage door, the toys come down and they get thoroughly cleaned. I was hoping that a rather large toy order I had made a few weeks ago would be here in time, but apparently not, so I am doing it today anyway without all the new goodies the guys are getting. The hose pipe is my best friend on those days.  AddEmoticons04239

I wipe them down with a wet rag twice a week to get any tiel dust off and anything else that has accumulated on the cage bars and then once a week the cages/perches etc get a thorough scrubbing with a soap and water mix and then a hot rinse.

The difference between kids and parrots is that it's funny when a parrot talks back.

I have found that cleaning the cage outside is so much easier (elbow room, wrm sun to dry) but what do you do in the winter? I know the shower, right? I like the recipe for cleaner with the vinegar, etc.  i would rather go as au nateral as possible, I also found that combination, (dish soap, vinegar, and water) works as ant and spider spray! used it on the deck!

How much time does it take to do that D, for all the cages?  how often do you do the BIg CLean?
