a 501c3!!!  We got our letter from the IRS yesterday.  Took 358 days after incorporation to get the approval, the incorporation took 3 months...in total 15 months!

John (my hubby) should be updating our website tonight...  www.ahelpingwing.org

Congratulations on the good news! I'm sure that helps you out immensely. That is a beautiful area of the country there and I am sure you are doing good work. I see that you are pretty strict on your adoption rules and that is good! That macaw on the front page is beautiful, do you have any other companion parrots? If you have any sense you have at least one Amazon, but I am told I am prejudiced.

I just have to say I love this organization. They flew from New Jersey to Houston, rented a car and drove to my house, collected my birds and their toys/perches, and then drove back to Jersey. All at no cost to me. It's been about 3 weeks now and I got an update today. All seems to be going well. I miss my babies but am so glad to know they are in good hands.

I've heard nothing but good things about her and John. John was a really great guy when he got to the house. Funny thing is that we got everyone in their travel carriers but Frankie. That little stinker knew something was up and he simply was NOT going to take part in it. He wouldn't allow us to put him in his carrier. John had to do it. With a towel. Frankie was mighty miffed and I'm sure he let John know about it for a good while because Frankie got to ride shotgun. lol

Wow!! Debs I didn't know the folks who took your birds were in New Jersey!!! That was some trip your fabies took going back. I just thought you had found a rescue in Texas to take them. There are still a couple of them I know of, but never see any news about them anymore.

Glad all is going good with them. Do they give you updates occasionally about how they are doing? That is sure dedication from Jeanne & John to come so far to make sure the birds traveled in proper care instead of having them flown up to them.  hugu
