I can't remember if I have ever posted this but wanted to share considering the economy and all.  I know there are many who like to feed their birds Beak Appetit, Kitchen Creations, Pretty Bird Birdy Banquet, Crazy Corn, Foster & Smith International Feasts and other dehydrated microwavable meals.  We used to feed this also every other night.  As our flock grew we were getting killed by the price of these products.  Heck, one box of Beak Appetit couldn't even feed our flock now.  We buy our own ingredients now and a year ago did the price difference in the long run...It was a huge long run savings of $$$ and ours is healthier.  We get most of our Veggies, fruits and Beans(legumes) from Harmony House and Justtomatoes.  Almost all of their stuff has no preservatives.  What I really like is that they have pre cooked dried beans.  No soaking required and can feed them as is!  All other stuff like grains, cracked corn, nuts, pastas etc we get at other stores.  This does save $ whether you are making a batch of crunchy edibles or a micro meal.  It may seem as though it costs a lot at first but it lasts a long time.  Just portion and throw in the fridge or freezer.  Here is the link to my Dehydrated Micro meal, just scroll to the bottom http://buffaloparrot.smfforfree3.com/index.php/topic,13.0.html  and here is the link to Harmony House and justtomatoes, check it out ;) http://www.harmonyhousefoods.com/ and www.justtomatoes.com/

I will check it for sure.  I love making different concoctions for my fids.  I did a simple snaky type a while back that was a HUGE hit.  Quinoa, cherries, pecan and macadamia nuts, and sprinkle of coconut.  I don't use it as a main meal but rather as a high protein snack.
It would probably be cheaper for me to get some of the dehydrated stuff online.  Thanks. :)

Perfect timing! I have just started searching for good places to buy dehydrated stuff because I'm going to make my own mixture and mix it with the pellets. Thanks!

“My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.”

Hey D-zee-kins! :D I just placed my first order with Harmony House. I think you should get a juicy discount  for referred them to us.  >:(, I might just send an email on the subject. Anyway, I got the veggie sampler. fids aren't too good about fruits but they sure like there veggies. I'm not only going to use as snack, but also hope to use for foraging. :) and the onion sampler packets for soups...ohh the possibilities. ::)
